Quick Impressions from the Photokina

For all those interested in camera tech, here’s a brief look at some of the products from the Photokina this year.
The biggest Camera Tech show in the world is traditionally held every two years in the German city of Koeln, showcasing the latest and greatest in camera and imaging technology to the world. Missed the festivities this year? Don’t want to wait another two years to attend the next one? Don’t worry… we’ve got you covered this time, and starting in 2019, the Photokina will become an annual event, so start planning ahead!

This year brought some major announcements from some of the biggest names in camera tech, namely:

New Camera Announcements

Lens Announcements

We didn’t have that much time at the show, so this was just a quick look at some of the upcoming gear from the Photokina. There was so much more to see and do at the event, ranging from workshops by famous photographers, to testing out some of the latest drones, lights, tripods, lenses, and other camera accessories, that it was quite an action-filled time for us.

While the new gear was certainly the main attraction, other entertainment for the attendees was also provided by several bands, live-performers, and photo exhibitions between the exhibition halls  So, everything a photo-enthusiast could possibly want was catered to.

At the end of the day, we walked away with some great first impressions of exciting upcoming gear, saw a few interesting workshops by famous photographers, and left with a reborn sense of wonder and enthusiasm for the latest in camera and imaging tech.

Big thanks to our German contributor, Andrea Feicht, for providing some of these images for us to use. She’s a professional photographer in Southern Germany, and if you’d like to find out more about her and her work, please click on the link below:
